Project one
This development project for Techsyscom, a communications consulting organization, involved a network hardware/software upgrade and a corporate intranet development. The project included selecting, procuring, and installing of broadband internet access, a router with a firewall and DMZ host, installation of a high speed Ethernet switchable network and additional hardware server capacity to support serving the intranet. Then, an intranet was developed based on the organization’s need to communicate with employees and sub contractors both inside and outside the firewall. Applications developed included a bulletin board of schedules, events, and memos; a personnel roster by employee or by job title with links to personal contact page(s) and an availability log; a time and expense accounting subsystem; and a by-project/client and a generic archive of work papers, artwork, and reference materials.
